Hello Morbid North, Welcome to Global Entertainment Mag.

The first question I been pondering for a long time is “Who is the Artist that has complete the superb Artwork on your CD Cover Morbid North Now you Pay?”

The artist who designed our upcoming CD Now You Pay is Christie Stait. She has no website yet but she can be found on our Facebook.

Have you ever thought of incorporating 3D graphics into your CD Cover?

3D Graphics would be very cool; we have been pricing several ideas including Holograms. We hope to incorporate some of these ideas in the next album cover.

Is the CD Cover inlay a booklet filled with cool graphic art with the lyrics listed?

We have been looking at several design ideas for the booklet insert. We have always liked the pull-out inserts with pics and lyrics. However the Eco Sleeve "Reduced" Paper design does offer some benefits as well.

I dig what I hear in your sound, old school classical metal with a twist of new industrial/alternative metal style naughty guitar riffs and drum solos, along with influences of The Moody Blues to Led Zeppelin sounds in the vocals. I’m curious does the band have many favorites of former metal acts from the 70-80’s era?

We are heavily influenced by many Classic Rock bands. We wanted to reflect this in our sound while trying to create a style of our own.

What influences Morbid North to write lyrics based on searching for truths, under covering layers of deceit, and relationships are they based on personal experiences of the band members and or friends?

Both Mike and I write the lyrics. Some of the songs are Personal i.e. "Corridor" which was written by Mike for his Father who passed away many years ago. Others are concepts like "Fugitive" where I wrote a short story\Poem and we edited it to fit the music.

1) Fugitive
2) Scream
3) Hero Quest
4) Buried Alive
5) Obsession
6) Corridor
7) Real World
8) I'm Cold
9) The Apprentice
10) Sick & Tired

Little is known about Morbid North only that they came out of the shadows and started rocking everyone socks off, so can you provide a little history about the band?

For the past five years Mike has hosted an open jam at his music store "Kellys of Simcoe". He sets up a stage and allows the young local bands to play their music. The "Kellys Jam Band" was born and we started being asked to play other venues such as "The Concert for the Cure". After which Mike and I came up with the idea for Morbid North.

Has any of the band members played in former bands?

We have played for many years as side-men in many different bands. We have worked on several recording projects and tours and I believe this is what gives us a different perspective and that "Seasoned" sound.

I like how the band sounds like their Album when putting on a live killer performance. There is no distortion and the sound is crisp and clear your videos kick ass! Does Morbid North have live sound technicians come in with each concert to produce their sound?

Our sound engineer is Shawn Smith he has helped us with our recording and production. We use Shawn for all of our live shows as he knows our sound and our set-up. He has also done our video editing and photography.

Since the band can really put on a hell of a show. How many fans dig seeing Morbid North perform live over the Album?

We love to play live and I think this is reflected by the turn-out at our shows. We have a dedicated fan base some that have travelled up to three hours to come to our shows. We love our fans and we can never thank them enough!!!

Morbid North is doing excellent on Reverbnation hitting the chart position of number 3, do these charts tell you where, or what countries your music is most popular?

The chart numbers aren't that important to us last week we were #4.. This week we are #2...They flow up and down and don't always make sense. The "Fan Maps" however are great!!! They tell you where you are popular and where you need to concentrate your promotions. We have used this to our advantage and now have fans in 113 Countries.

Does the band play regularly in the Simcoe and Burlington area or have they travelled to other parts of Ontario to play such as the London and Toronto area or opened up for other metal bands within Ontario?

We have played the Majority of our shows in the Simcoe area. We have played in Burlington a couple of times once for The Y108 Rock and Roll Challenge and this summer we opened for Famous Underground. We are hoping to tour extensively when our second CD is released.

Do Morbid North support and promote any noteworthy charitable causes such as animal rights, green energy or raising awareness for cancer patients?

On Nov.1st a compilation CD called "Amazing" will be released. All of the proceeds go to The Canadian Cancer Society and The Bluewater Health Unit. We are Very Proud to have our song "Corridor" on this album alongside some Very notable Artists. This is a wonderful cause and we support this wholeheartedly.

Curious, why did Morbid North choose to create their own record label?

We started Morbid Records so we could share our success with some of the awesome artists we have met. We are hoping to use our experience and networking to develop Real Opportunities for as many artists as possible.

What is it about the majority of bigger record labels the band likes or dislikes?

Many labels today put the dollar before the music. We have seen both sides of this and prefer the creative control to belong to the Artist. At the end of the day we have to like the songs we play.

Would Morbid North turn down the opportunity for a record label to offer tour support in the future to play with other metal acts?

We would love to attract the interest of a Major Label and be added to a Tour or Festival. That would be extremely cool.

What are the bands future plans say within the next 12 months, any tours planned or is there another Album in the works?

Our CD "Now You Pay" is almost complete and ready for production we are planning to tour as much as possible. We have been asked to play at "The Whisky A Go-Go" in Hollywood. Which is a Major Honor and would be a Great start to the tour !!

Before we close our interview does Morbid North have any advice to young rookies forming their bands for the first time or anything to say to their fans?

We would like to tell the Indie bands out there..."Don't Ever Give Up”!!! There is so much opportunity today via the social networks. Everyone wants to hear something new find "Your" audience. And Support each other!! We are all living the same dream!!!

Thank you Morbid North for this interview. You Rock! I hope to see your band come to my area in London and play soon.

Thanks again Tina... Dan\Morbid North
