I started realising I loved music when I was 4 years old. I would listen to the beatles and a monster mash album. When I was around 10-12 years old, I used to use my mom's good candles and use the couch as a drumset! the bass from the pillows sounded awesome! Well my mom got a lil' tired of me breaking all of her candles, and actually bought me my very first pair of drumsticks! =) she noticed a passion I had for the couch drums, so one day, she took me for a surprise car ride. It was my 14th birthday or graduation gift, I can't remember exactly, It might have been because I begged her for a drumset! Like I said, I can't remember. I'll ask her, then update this bio! She took me for a surprise car ride to someone's house to look at something. We walked downstairs in a basement and there it was. I was in shock. huge smiles when I saw the drumset. It was a real drumset! I didn't care what kind it was because it was not going to be me hitting a couch anymore! I was in disbelief at what was going on. I was really about to own my first drumset. Love you mom for not only giving birth to me, but for that day as well. I picked up guitar about 4 years later and fiddled around with it a bit, but didn't get really into playing guitar and singing until my heart was ripped to shreds, was living in my jam hall and I started recording songs vigorously. The first name I had was 'sorry about that'. I grew sick of that really quick and changed the name to personal helicopter.
Now let's fast forward to today. I play in 2 bands (treben'dle/grand river orchestra)as a drummer, and personal helicopter as a solo project. I do have musician friends of mine take part in recording and helping with live shows sometimes.
Music is fun, it's inspiring to many people, makes us feel great, sad, aggressive, silly, and can even make you cry. Seeing people at concerts get emotionally involved with the performance is the reason why I get out of bed late in the afternoon.
